Commissions and Fraud Review
Commission lifecycle is driven by attribution plus Stripe payment events. Use the commission review screens to understand what is payable, what is still waiting, and what needs fraud or refund review before payout.
Commission States

voided | Commission was invalidated by refund, dispute, duplicate payment, or manual review |
Fraud Signals
When self-referral detection is enabled, AffiliateBase can flag suspicious conversions for review before they are paid. A fraud flag is a review prompt, not proof by itself.
Common review inputs include:
- affiliate email and customer email
- referral IP and user-agent context
- Stripe sale details
- campaign and link ownership
- refund, dispute, or duplicate payment history
Merchant Review Actions
From commission review, operators can resolve flagged commissions:
- Approve: clear the fraud review flag and let the commission continue to
pendingorduebased on its due date. - Reject or deactivate: void the commission when abuse or invalid attribution is confirmed.
- Leave pending: keep the commission out of payout until the evidence is clear.
Outcome Guidance
- Use Approve when the affiliate/customer relationship looks legitimate.
- Void only when there is a concrete reason, such as confirmed self-referral, duplicate Stripe payment, refund, dispute, or known invalid attribution.
- Do not pay commissions in
pending,processing, orvoidedstate. - Keep notes or payment references when a finance or support decision depends on external evidence.
Refunds and Disputes
Refund and dispute events can adjust or void commission outcomes depending on the timing and state of the commission. Review the sale and commission details before including the affiliate in the next payout run.
