Connect AffiliateBase to ChatGPT

Connect ChatGPT to your AffiliateBase account by signing in and approving access, then ask about setup, affiliates, commissions, and payouts.

Connect ChatGPT to AffiliateBase to finish setup and check on your affiliate program from a chat. You sign in to AffiliateBase and approve access. There is no token to copy.

Once connected, you can ask questions like:

  • What’s left to finish setting up my affiliate program?
  • How do I install AffiliateBase tracking on my site?
  • Who are my top affiliates?
  • How much commission is due right now?
  • Which payouts are still pending?

Before you start

  • You need to be an owner or admin of the AffiliateBase account you want to connect.
  • Adding AffiliateBase by its server URL may need a paid ChatGPT plan, such as Plus. In team workspaces, an admin may also need to allow custom connections.

Connect ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Plugins from the sidebar.

  2. Click Add, then Create custom MCP server.

  3. For Name, enter AffiliateBase.

  4. For Server URL, enter:

    https://app.affiliatebase.io/mcp

  5. Leave Authentication set to OAuth. Check I understand and want to continue, then click Create as a plugin.

  6. On the Connect AffiliateBase screen, click Continue to AffiliateBase.

  7. Sign in to AffiliateBase if you aren’t already.

  8. On the AffiliateBase connect screen (titled with the app name, such as Connect ChatGPT), choose the AffiliateBase account to connect, review what ChatGPT will be able to do, and click Approve. ChatGPT confirms the connection.

  9. Start a new chat, click + in the message box, and choose AffiliateBase.

The connection is for one AffiliateBase account. To use another account, connect again and choose that account.

What ChatGPT can do

ChatGPT can help you finish setup:

  • check which setup steps are done and what comes next
  • give install instructions for your checkout path
  • give you an affiliate link to test with
  • check whether tracking and the Stripe handoff are working
  • mark setup confirmed, once AffiliateBase has seen proof that it works

It can also read, but not change, your program:

  • campaigns and affiliates
  • referrals, commissions, and payouts
  • a summary of your dashboard numbers

ChatGPT cannot pay affiliates, change commissions, change billing, manage promo codes, or manage your team.

Manage or disconnect

  1. In AffiliateBase, go to Settings -> AI Connectors.
  2. Find the connection named after the app, such as ChatGPT. Created by shows who approved it and Last used shows when ChatGPT last used it.
  3. Click Revoke to disconnect. ChatGPT loses access immediately.

You can also remove the app in ChatGPT. To connect again later, repeat the steps above.

ChatGPT’s access also stops if you leave the AffiliateBase account. If you are no longer an owner or admin, ChatGPT keeps access for up to an hour and then needs someone with access to reconnect.

Troubleshooting

  • “You need to be an owner or admin of an AffiliateBase account to connect it.” You’re signed in, but not as an owner or admin. Ask an owner to connect, or to change your role.
  • The wrong person is signed in. Click Not you? Sign out on the AffiliateBase connect screen, then start the connection again from ChatGPT.
  • “This connection request is not valid.” Close the window and start the connection again from ChatGPT.
  • ChatGPT says it can’t reach AffiliateBase after working before. The connection may have been revoked. Check Settings -> AI Connectors, then reconnect from ChatGPT.
